Melon water | Agua de Melon

Recently, my Husband and I were invited to a family outing to the beach. They had asked me to bring some tortillas for the carne asada, but it thought that I needed to take something else.  So I thought, why not take a nice fresh water.  After all, we were going to be under the hot sun and sometimes you thirst for something other than soda.  There are many fresh waters one can make, but since we were on a budget I decided to make melon water.  And boy, was it much needed on that HOT day.  The things you will need are...

  • A melon (2 depending on how much you are making)
  • Sugar
  • Strainer
  • Ice
  • Water jug
  • Water

 1. Cut your melon in half.

2. Remove the seeds from the middle.

3. Cut or peel off the skin.

4. Cut the melon into small squares.

5. Add some melon into the blender and fill the bender to the top of water and blend to liquefy.

6. Once blended, pour through strainer into the water jug (I like to do this to remove the foam from actual water, it will make your water taste fresh).

7. Repeat steps 5,6 and 7 until your water jug is filled up to desired point (Leave some cut up melon to the side for later).

9. Once you have the water to your desired point, add sugar to your liking.

10. Add some cut up melon squares.

11. Add ice.

12. Store in fridge to keep cool.

ENJOY!
