Fried Chicken | Pollo frito

This dish, I learned how to make on my own. I was wondering what to make one night and I knew I wanted to make some kind of chicken. I looked through my pantry and noticed I had bread crumbs and thought, can I make fried chicken with that? So I decided to give it a try and to my surprise, it worked! My Husband loved the chicken! I added some sides to the dish as well such as white rice, mashed potatoes, and beans. I used skinless chicken breast because my husband does not like the skin. But I believe it will work better with skin on. The things you will need are...

  • Chicken (any part you would like with or without skin your choice)
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Pan
  • Oil
  • Bowl
  • Whisk

1. Heat up oil about half way in medium heat.

2. In a bowl add 1/2-1 cup of milk (Depends on how much chicken you will be frying) and one egg.

3. Whisk the milk and egg together.

4. In a bowl pour the bread crumbs (You may add seasoning to your bread crumbs depending if it comes already seasoned or not).

5. Grab a piece of chicken and place into the milk and egg mix. Let soak for a couple of seconds.

6. Remove from mix and place into the bread crumb bowl. Roll the chicken in the crumbs all sides get covered.

7. Once chicken is covered, place into the hot pan with oil.

8. Let chicken fry and cook thoroughly on low to medium heat (Flip chicken if the oil is not covering the top).

9. Once chicken looks nice and golden make sure the inside is cooked thoroughly, and remove chicken from oil placing it on a napkin to remove excess oil.

10. Serve with your choice of sides!

ENJOY!
