Chicken with Chorrizo & Cactus | Pollo de Chorrizo con Nopal

     This is a recipe that I came up with one day. I had cactus up to my eyeballs and did not know what to do with them. Then I noticed that I had chorrizo left over and I needed to use that as well. So I thought, why not combine all them with chicken? And to my surprise, this recipe came out so delicious and is so easy and fast to make. The things you will need are...


  • Chicken breast
  • Pork Chorrizo 
  • Cactus 



1.Cut up the cactus into small squares.


2. Place them in a pot to boil for about 2-3 hours or until cactus are brown.


3. Once the cactus is ready and there is no slimy liquid coming out, strain them and rinse in cold water.


4. In a pan, cook the chorrizo.


5. Cut up the desired amount of chicken breast into cubes.



6. Add them to the pan along with the cactus.


7. Let all three ingredients cook thoroughly. The chicken might let out its natural juices, let it cook until there is no more juice. Once ready, you may serve with your choice of sides.
